Doritos' got something like a million (give or take a few hundred thousand) ads made by the most creative minds that the internet can muster.
The details can be found on their website

and some ads can be found on youtube

Pretty great advertisements but do you think that it is exploitation, innovation and motivation?
:)
I would say that it is motivation, it's not like they are forcing anyone to make an ad for them- It's a competition so if yours is voted the best don't you win something?
ReplyDeleteI think it is actually a really good way of marketing themselves, it encourages individuals to really connect with the brand and get involved
Gee, "exploitation" is a strong word! Not at all, as Emily says, nobody is forced to make an ad.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to add to Emily's comment that it increases involvement in the brand. The real purpose of this competition isn't so much to get some free creative services (rather than paying an advertising agency). Instead it's all about getting consumers excited about the Doritos brand. It's worked for them in the past, so they are just duplicating the campaign here in Australia.
